Corn Islands Legend: The White Horse
Between the neighbourhood of South End and Sally Peachie lived a big white horse with a long mane and a long tail.
The horse was always standing sideways or backwards. According to our ancestors, this horse is taking care of a fortune that his owner left him to watch. Some people said the horse keeper was a tall white man.
When anyone goes near the horse, he turns around so you can see his two big red eyes; they are so red that it looks as if it's fire coming out of them.
Whoever sees the horse's eyes would get so afraid that they couldn’t run away, and others would stay in shock and faint.
This horse is watching the fortune of its owner. The horse doesn’t want anyone to take it away or steal the fortune of its master, and that is why it gets furious when anyone goes near the place where the fortune of its owner lies.
