This is an authentic transcript from the original document declaring the emancipation of enslaved people on Corn Island on Friday, 27 August 1841. The emancipation was carried out by Colonel Alexander McDonald in the presence of the listed slave owners and the King of the Mosquito Coast, Robert Charles Frederic.
