Mayors of the Corn Islands

A gallery of photographs highlighting the mayors who have led the Corn Islands since their elevation to municipal status in 1940, reflecting the islands’ political and historical journey over time. The first mayor was appointed by Presidential Decree No. 312 on 9 February 1940. Since 1997, mayors have been elected by the people through democratic elections.
