Corn Island in the Caribbean Baseball Series of Nicaragua

Corn Island along with Pearl Lagoon joined the Atlantic Baseball Series in 1969, which took place in Puerto Cabezas.
In 2014, the Nicaraguan Parliament ratified the Political Constitution, stating that all that reads “Atlantic or Atlantic Coast” should be instead “Caribbean or Caribbean Coast”. Since this constitutional change, the name of the Atlantic Baseball Series was changed to Caribbean Baseball Series.
To this day, the player that has the highest bat scores in the Caribbean Baseball Series is the Corn Islander Albert Watts, with an average of 769–10 hits and 13 bats. This was achieved in Siuna during the 33rd Caribbean Baseball Series.
The last Caribbean Baseball Series that was held in Corn Island was in 2011, this was the 60th edition and it took place in the Karen Tucker and Cheslor Cuthbert Baseball Stadium of Great Corn Island, and the Walter Hunter Baseball Stadium of Little Corn Island. The inauguration of the series that year was on the 6 of April and the first games commenced the following day. Keyla Tenorio was the creator of the emblem or logo of the series that year.
