Welcome to The Corn Islands Virtual Library

The Corn Islands Virtual Library is a community project that aims to promote and conserve the history, culture and traditions of the Corn Islands, Nicaragua.

STS Initiative created this non-profit project in August 2021 for academic purposes and to preserve the historical, cultural, visual and audiovisual heritage of Great Corn Island and Little Corn Island for present and future generations to learn about the islands' past and to have to their disposition a recollection of information and researches.

All the information collected and stored on this site is thanks to the collaboration of local historians and academics, documentation, oral accounts and research that have been done to conserve the memory and local identity.

May this space serve to embrace, love and promote our identity and ancestral heritage so that it can live on for the present and future generations.
